1. What this service is
The Opinion Machine (the Service) publishes AI-generated commentary on current news articles. AI language models produce all panelist statements automatically. The Service is entertainment and a technology demonstration — it is not journalism, not professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise), and not a substitute for reporting.
By using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use (Terms). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. AI-content disclaimer
All panelist statements, debate summaries, and consensus analyses are generated by artificial intelligence. AI outputs may be:
- Factually incorrect or outdated
- Biased in ways we cannot fully anticipate or control
- Logically inconsistent or self-contradictory
- Defamatory, offensive, or otherwise objectionable
- Hallucinated — confidently stated but entirely fabricated
Do not rely on AI-generated content for any material decision. Always verify claims with primary sources before acting on them.
3. No warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
4. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
In particular, we are not liable for losses arising from acting on AI-generated opinions about companies, markets, public figures, or events.
5. User obligations
You agree not to:
- Scrape or systematically download content for redistribution or commercial resale
- Automate requests in a manner that disrupts the Service
- Attempt to impersonate the Service, its operator, or any AI panelist
- Use the Service in any manner that violates applicable law
6. Content about real people
Debates discuss real news events and may name real individuals — politicians, executives, public figures, and others. AI-generated statements about these individuals may be inaccurate, misleading, or unfair. We do not endorse any AI-generated claim about any individual. Panelist opinions are machine outputs, not the views of the operator or of the AI vendors.
7. Content takedown procedure
If you believe a debate contains content that is defamatory, materially inaccurate, violates your rights, or is otherwise objectionable, contact us:
Email: [email protected]
Subject line: "Content Concern — [debate URL]"
Include: the URL of the debate, the specific statement at
issue, and a description of the concern.
We will review your request within 48 hours. If the concern is verified, we will retract the debate (replacing it with a tombstone record) within 72 hours of verification. Retraction is our primary remedy; we do not retroactively alter the text of a debate transcript.
For DMCA-covered copyright claims, the same email address serves as our designated agent. Please include all information required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3).
8. Intellectual property
